The Establishment

“A SENSE OF PLACE IN AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL LANDSCAPE”

The lodge is situated on the northern periphery of the Spitzkoppe inselberg, between huge granite boulders, which were created more than 150 million years ago, with breath taking views onto the Brandberg and Erongo Mountains. The stylish, private accommodation consists of 15 spacious, tastefully furnished chalets, each with private bathroom and outside viewing deck, which connects the guest with the vast stretches of untouched sand and boulders beyond.

The buildings are linked with elevated walkways all constructed to be wheel chair friendly and minimise the impact on the environment. The development and operations are integrated with nature. Limited use of concrete with elevated floors and decks and composite materials for walls, which can be dismantled easily, will enable nature to restore itself in just a few months after deconstruction. Sensitivity towards wildlife and heritage was paramount in all the stages of the development. The tented roof shapes simulate the surrounding rock formations and soften the square building plan form.

Did You Know?

Spitzkoppen Lodge is child friendly

Children under 12 can be accommodated in rooms with parents on a stretcher and mattress one child per room

Spitzkoppen Lodge only has a limited number of stretchers available

Parents are requested to keep their children under control

There are snakes and scorpions in the area and parents are requested to make sure that children do not put their hands in nooks and crannies  

Spitzkoppen Lodge is surrounded with rocks and boulders. Parents are requested to make sure that their children do not climb or leap and jump on them, they are slippery and dangerous.            

Swimming at own risk and parents should supervisor children when swimming

Facilities

The stylish, private accommodation consists of 15 generously spaced tastefully furnished chalets, each with private bathroom and covered outside viewing deck. The Lodge accommodates maximum 30 guests and two guide rooms. Window openings are equipped with gauze and the beds with mosquito netting.

The airy dining, lounge and bar area open onto spacious split level pool deck and fire pit areas in close proximity of the natural rock pool. The planned shape of the dining and lounge makes provision for “private” areas to accommodate small groups, with a 360° view onto the granite boulders which are lit at night.

The main areas are designed for relaxation and comfort with a friendly atmosphere and guests can have our famous sundowner platter at the elevated spot with a view onto the west and watch the sun setting behind the Brandberg Mountain. A creative kitchen under the management of the professional chef will serve a memorable dinner on elegant tables.

Policies

Children’s Policy:

Free of charge for children under 3 years of age sharing with parents

N$ 880.00 per child per night sharing with parents in chalet (2-6 Years) one child per room only

N$ 1250.00 per child sharing in own room (6-12 Years)

Children 13 years and older cannot share with parents and will be charged the full normal rate

The above rate includes bed and breakfast only

All additional meals such as dinner and lunch will be charged extra        

  Dinner N$ 160.00 p/child (3-12 years)

  Lunch N$ 130 p/child (3-12 years)

Activities charged at full rate extra

Proof of child’s age must be readily available when requested by lodge management or booking agent
