Secure Transactions
Security is one of our top priorities. We work closely with Nedbank Namibia, our merchant account provider and PayGate, our payment gateway, to ensure that your transactions are secure and that the site is at all times safe to use.
To set your mind at ease though, here are some of the things you should always consider when using your Credit or Debit card online.
1. Is the site secure?
You want to make sure that you are visiting a site through a secure connection when submitting credit card details. A secure website (encrypted communication and secure identification) will begin with HTTPS and not HTTP and you will see a icon in the Address bar. Secure connections use certificates to identify the website and to encrypt your connection. To see more information about the website and the certificate you can click on the lock icon.
Certificates are issued by companies called certification authorities. All web browsers contain a list of the most common certification authorities. If the browser doesn't recognize the issuer of the certificate, a warning message will appear.
2. What does the website do with personal information?
Only provide personal information (such as your credit card number) when there is a very good reason to do so. Always make sure that the page in which you enter information is a secure one (described above). It is very also important to know what the site will do with the information. Feel free to view StayToday's Privacy Policy for details. StayToday uses PayGate as a Payment Gateway Provider and at no point during (or after) the transaction do we store (nor even have access to) your credit card number.
3. Understand how your card will be charged.
For Short Stays
When a last minute Short Stays is booked StayToday will charge your card. This secures your booking. All additional incidental charges incurred during your stay at the establishment will have to be settled at the establishment. Due to the fact that the Short Stays will always be last minute NO refund will be granted in the event of a cancellation or no-show.
For Featured Stays
When a Featured Stays is purchased StayToday will charge your card. This secures your booking. All additional incidental charges incurred during your stay at the establishment will have to be settled at the establishment. Refunds will be granted for cancellations. Refer to the "Cancellation Policy" section in our Terms and Conditions for details.
For any further detail please consult our Terms and Conditions.
IMPORTANT:
- You should enter your card details on the secure checkout page ONLY (see above)
- We will NEVER ask you to provide card details or change bank account information via email.
4. Is there any way to contact the company?
A good way to ascertain whether the site is legal and trustworthy is make sure you can contact them (off-site) with requests or problems. You can contact StayToday through any of these channels.
