At the edge of the Namib Desert, in the midst of gravel plains, bordering the Namib Naukluft Park is a little town called Solitaire. The mystic little settlement of Solitaire does justice to its name in more than one way. Solitaire is an excellent choice to split your journey between Sesriem / Sossusvlei and Swakopmund or Windhoek.
Tucked away behind the bustling scene is Solitaire Country Lodge. All the rooms face the central courtyard with a large swimming pool in the middle surrounded by lush green lawn. The restaurant and bar is under a large thatch roof wHere meals and drinks are served in traditional Solitaire hospitality. If you are on your way to the famous dunes of Sossusvlei or returning back and did not stop at Solitaire, your journey is not complete.

- Hiking: Two non-guided walking trails are available on the property. Distance between 3.5 km to 8km and both trails are clearly marked
