The Establishment

Namib Desert Lodge sits at the very foot of the "fossilized" dunes of the protomorphic Namib. Situated just 60 km north of Sesriem, the gateway to famous Sossusvlei, and not far from the main road, the lodge is an ideal starting point for an excursion to the highest dunes in the world.

Among tall trees and palms there are 60 rooms en-suite, a restaurant and swimming pool, all of which invite you to linger and relax.

Join a drive through the magnificent scenery or simply enjoy the thrill of Gemsbok and Springbok frequenting the illuminated watering hole after dusk.

Did You Know?

• The (fossil) dunes overlooking the lodge are 20 million years old and contain fossils of the ancestors of the modern day Ostrich
• The name Sesriem is Afrikaans and means six belts
• Big Daddy is the highest dune in the Sossusvlei area, it is about 325 meters high
